Born in 1948 in Irpin (Ukraine).
In 1967 he graduated from the Republican Art School (now the Taras Shevchenko State Art High School) (Kyiv, Ukraine).
In 1977 he graduated from the Lviv Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts (now - Lviv National Academy of Arts),
In 1984 - Higher directing and screenwriting courses in Moscow (Russia).
In 1993-1998 he worked in Switzerland.
