Tetyana Ilyakhova is a member of the legendary art collective “Paris Commune,” which has become a symbol of bold creative exploration and freedom of expression. Ilyakhova is a painter, graphic artist, and creator of tapestries and batiks. Her batiks, in which craftsmanship is elevated to an incredible level of beauty, exist on the threshold of the sacred.
“Crackles of Time” is an exploration of the invisible connections between humans and nature, myth and reality, the past, present, and future.
Here, the boundary between human and plant, human and animal, human and myth disappears—all of this exists as a single living organism.
“Batik is a meditative process during which you work not only with matter, but also with memory, time, and your inner state. It requires concentration, skill, patience, and inner silence.
It is silence that becomes the space of transformation. In these works, silence is not emptiness, but a living presence.”
